Popsicle Mocktail Recipe: Lulo Lime Love
Have you heard of Lulos before? Otherwise known as the naranjilla, this citrusy (yet surprisingly not from the citrus family) fruit is very popular in Colombia and jam-packed with health benefits. One of the best ways to try a new fruit is by eating it directly, but since it's so difficult to get your hands on fresh lulos in the U.S., we'll settle for the next best thing by making it into a popsicle mocktail!
When I dream about lulos in drinks, the Lulada - a deliciously tangy and refreshing Colombian drink - immediately comes to mind. It's from the El Valle region of the country, and normally made with mashed lulos, lime juice, water, sugar, ice, & a shot of vodka for those that need a special kick in their drink. However, for this recipe, I'll make the vodka optional so that the entire family can enjoy this together *wink*.

Ingredients
- 6 oz sparkling water (preferably already cold)
- 4 ice cubes (optional)
- Juice from 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon cane sugar
Garnishes
- 1 lulo popsicle (2.25 oz)
- Optional: 1 sprig of mint (gently muddled)
- Optional: salt on rim of glass
Instructions
- Place the ingredients into a shaker. Shake until ice cold. (If you don't have a shaker, you can mix the ingredients in a
blender's container.) - Pour the mixture into your preferred glass, about 3/4 full to leave some space for the popsicle.
- Put the lulo popsicle into the glass, stick side up.
- Drop the mint sprig (optional) in.
