What is an aseptic fruit puree?

An aseptic fruit puree refers to the silver bag packaging. Aseptic just means “anti-microbial.” Our aseptic bags keep out bacteria, wild yeast, sunlight and oxygen to ensure our purees are fresh whenever you are ready to open them.

Keep in mind not all aseptic packaging is made the same. Our aseptic packaging meets FDA regulations. We use a 3-layer high barrier polyethylene system for maximum efficacy and freshness.

How do I open the aseptic packaging?

Open the box, take out the aseptic bag, cut one of the corners or the upper part of the bag and then just pour it into a container. The bag has a valve but it is only for filling purposes.

We are working on changing our opening system to include valves which will twist open and can be re-sealed. More updates soon as we start rolling out the new valves!

What is the shelf-life of your purees?

Our aseptic packaging keeps our purees super fresh for 18 months from the date of manufacture.

If I don’t use it all, can I store the leftovers?

No worries! You can keep the unused puree refrigerated up to 10 days, or freeze it for the remainder of the shelf-life. We suggest putting the leftovers in a sanitized, tightly-sealable container (e.g. bottle), making sure it is avoiding contact with light and oxygen as much as possible.

Our purees are fresh and NOT frozen. Our aseptic packaging allows us to perfectly store and ship our purees at temperatures below 77 degrees F. This means you can save room in your freezer, and never have to wait to waste time thawing out purees. Ours are ready-to-use fresh out of the bag!
