Add a Punch to your Brews with Earthy Blackcurrant
The blackcurrant, once known as the forbidden fruit, pairs well with both sweet and savory flavors. The small berries average just ⅓” in size and have deep earthy tones. Some say they taste like a combination of blueberries, cherries, and red wine.
Similar to blueberries, currant-based purees can be used to create unique flavors and textures. In beverages, the full-bodied flavor of blackcurrant makes it perfect for cocktails, distilled beverages, and fermented beverages such as beer and kombucha.
